What is Royal Arch Masonry?
The Royal Arch is the continuation of Craft Freemasonry and also considered the final part of the four stage journey from Initiation to Exaltation .The ceremony in the Royal Arch is colourful, thought provoking and uplifting. It is based upon the Old Testament legend of the rebuilding of the Temple and invokes, simultaneously, sensations of humility and our dependence on our unseen creator. Its members, called Companions, meet in Chapters under a Grand Chapter. Chapters are ruled over by three Principals, who rule conjointly. Every Master Mason of at least four weeks standing is eligible to join. Craft Masons are, therefore, actively encouraged to become members of the Royal Arch in order to further develop and enrich their understanding of Freemasonry. Just like all other masonic bodies you will need a proposer and seconder to join.
Regular Convocations of the Chapter are held at 10 Duke Street, St. James, London, SW1Y 6BS on the 1st Monday in December, 3rd Monday in June (Installation), and the 4th Tuesday in September.
