Charity giving is a major part of being a Freemason, and like other Lodges throughout the world, Epworth Lodge No3789 has donated liberally to charities. Principally, to those supported by The Metropolitan Grand Lodge and The United Grand Lodge of England as well as those that we support year in year out.
Epworth Lodge , is just part of 32,000 members of freemason that makes up lodges in London which assist the Metropolitan Grand Lodge to raise funds for major initiatives, such as; dramatically increasing the amount of rapid response ambulances; helping to fund London’s second Air Ambulance with a donation of over £2 Million; another donation of over £2 million pounds to provide Bart’s hospital with a state of the art Cyberknife machine; and today the latest appeal by raising £2.5 million to buy two desperately desirable high rise rescue platforms for London’s Fire Brigade. We have supported these three charities for very many years in fact for longer than for which I can find records. We were also awarded Patron status, they are:
Masonic Samaritan Fund,
Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution,
Royal Masonic Trust for Boys and Girls.
